About Connie Valasco
I started painting after visiting a mexican resturant in my town. There were such beautiful pictures on the walls that I wanted to be able to capture the beautiful places and nature of our world. I'am a self taught artisit with the help of artist friends and also the internet was a big help. Watercolor I find wonderful as it will flow although not always the way you want. I have always used my artist abilities to make my living. I was a silver and gold smith making jewelery for 20 yrs. I think this has helped me to forge on in painting and you never are complete. Oh Caroline what a nice comment. To give my work that much thought means alot to me. Color is my thing and sometimes when i paint it just take a life of its own. No consuious thought it just happens. After the drawing is finished it just happens.

Wow, such a beautiful and unique painting! I like the black around the women, it helps to bring out the colors of her body and head and the background. The head....I love the flowers and colorful designs on the wrap. Brilliant color...love it!
